L Carvin French bronze lion sculpture. This bronze is unmounted, measures 19-inch by 20-inch spelter lion signed L. Carvin. Louis Albert Carvin was a French sculptor, born in 1875 and died in 1951. He was known primarily for his sculptures of animals. He worked in bronze, spelter, and terra cotta.

Chinese bronze dispensing wisdom hand 17th to 18th century

Chinese bronze dispensing wisdom hand 17th to 18th century. This Chinese bronze depicts a hand with two fingers touching which is the simple for dispensing wisdom. This hand originally was part of a larger full figure Chinese bronze. Measures 20 inches high by 8 inches deep by 6 inches wide. This hand is set in a wooden display frame that measures 11 by 5 inches. Deep rich old patina with two small very old lead repairs. This type of repair was not used after the mid to late 19th century so it helps to date the bronze.

Brazilian Bruno Giorgi Brazilian sculptor bronze figure

Bruno Giorgi Brazilian bronze sculptor was born in Mocoa near Sao Paulo Brazil and moved with his family to Italy in 1911. Studied in France. This modern bronze sculpture measures 9 inches high, 4 inches wide, 11 inches high with base. It is signed on the bottom of its original rosewood base.See Latin American and Caribbean Artists of the Modern Era by Steve Shipp page 277 or New Brazilian Art by P M Bardi page 154 for more information on this important Brazilian artist. Examples of this form of abstract sculpture by Giorgi in a larger version can be seen in the book Bruno Giorgi c1980 by Art Editora Ltda./Editora Record S/A Rio de Janeiro.
